I am writing this just over 24 hours after Becky's Dad took a turn for the worse. Last evening, while having dialysis, Becky's Dad's heart began to fibrillate, which pretty much means it stopped pumping and was quivering. The hospital staff pumped his chest and eventually used the defibrillator on him and was able to get his heart pumping again. However, they were forced to put him back on a ventilator. His heart was pretty much not working for a total of 20-25 minutes. His heart being down for this long may have had a severe effect on his brain and other functions. We are waiting to find out just what his status is. Sometime tomorrow they will perform an EEG to check the condition of his brain. He has been making some movements and breathing a little on his own (above the ventilator). Overall, the situation looks bleak. Becky and her brother, Andy went down to be with their mom late last night. The family is praying very specifically that either God will call him home or bring him to some sort of conscious recovery, so that the family will not have to make difficult decisions regarding life support or those sorts of issues. Please pray with us for this. God is giving tremendous strength for Becky, Andy, and Mom. Please continue to pray for endurance during greatly difficult times and perhaps more difficult ones ahead. We are so privileged to have such faithful and concerned friends. Recognizing His goodness through it all, Travis (for the rest of us)

We love you and are praying.
Becky,
Dan and Karis told us about your dad. We are praying for your family and trust that the Lord will be glorified in whatever the outcome. It is comforting to know that God is in control and that His ways are perfect.
