We have the stickers, we have the charts, we have the potty, we have the 2 year old and we definitely have had ENOUGH of the diapers!! Does anyone have any suggestions before we begin? I've tried to look up info on the internet, but everyone wants me to buy their book. Does anyone know of a particular method that's tried and true (sort of like babywise for potty training?) =) And now, for the big question, what do you think about discipline for little boys who know how to go to the potty (especially #2) and just choose not to do it in the potty???? AHHH!!!

No help here as I am just thinking about starting this journey myself. I went to the library to check out some books on potty training last week so I could read them in my spare time at camp, and every single one of them were checked out. That should say something about this task! I will definitely be checking back to see what responses you get.
Uh . . . Uh . . . ummmm . . . don't know . . . the only experience I've had with potty training is my beautiful canine, Godiva, and I don't think it would be a good idea for you to try my method of rubbing Samuel's nose in his own feces and then say "Bad Boy" and throw him outside. I think child protective services might catch wind of that one, as a matter of fact, Peta might have a hayday with me as well. Sorry! No help here! Love & miss you guys! (Beck - I can almost hear your laugh as you read this!)
big k, you are hilarious!! if i wasn't so stinkin' tired i'd be really laughing!! it's 4:15 am and kara is awake to eat...i bet you can't wait for this stage???
Becky,
Now that I am officially a blogger, I feel that it's okay for me to add my two cents worth. :-) My daughter used a book I believed called "How to potty train in one day." She has used it on 3 of her 4 children with great success. I must admit that I was skeptical when I first heard about it, but I was a believer after seeing all of the kids potty trained (with no accidents) within a few days. This book recommends that the child be around 26 months in order to be successful. One piece of advise, don't fret and be patient and consistent; It does take time. Eventually the task is learned. Looking on the positive side of things; you don't see too many grown men walking around in pull-ups. :-)
